I grew up in a haunted home, so spending time in locations that feel creepy is oddly familiar to me. Doing paranormal work today as a medium not only leaves me with a sense of gratitude for being able to help others that have found themselves dealing with similar circumstances, it also helps me process what was going on when I was a kid.
Not long after I graduated from the Intensive Clairvoyant Training Program at the Berkeley Psychic Institute (2003), I was approached to help San Francisco Paranormal with their investigations. They were going to investigate an apartment near Dolores Park and asked me to come along. When we walked up to the address I asked, “Who is the old lady in the pink bathrobe on the third floor staring down at us?” They kind of shook their head in disbelief and said, “I think you’ll find out, that’s where we are going.”
Inside I had a lengthy conversation with the spirit of that old woman. She had lived in the apartment for forty years and had no interest in leaving. She didn’t know that she had died – which is so often the case. I asked if she wanted help moving on and she said no. I asked her if she could please be polite to the new tenants then, that she was a guest in their home now. She said she understood and that she would do so.
Later on I was informed that an agoraphobic woman had lived in the apartment for 40 years and that the current tenants would sometimes see her apparition wearing a pink bathrobe, particularly in the kitchen. That was when I fell in love with paranormal work. While I received plenty of validation for my psychic reading and healing work, the feeling I experienced being handed concrete factual evidence to back up what I had just experienced was not only validating, it was invigorating.
San Francisco Paranormal was active for several years and helped a lot of people with their homes and businesses. Along the way I started offering property cleansing and home healings too which were usually successful and helped a lot of stuck and trapped spirits move on. Sadly the team fell apart shortly after I moved to Los Angeles and while there is a paranormal crew currently operating in the Bay Area with a similar name, the two groups are unrelated. I have been working on my own in Los Angeles for more than a decade.
HOW I OPERATE
I primarily work alone at night for the simple reason that that is when the spirit realm is most active. Over the years I’ve also found it beneficial for residents to let me in and make their exit until I am finished. Why? It’s much easier for me to get a read on the property without any other energies inside it, and it also allows me to form my own impressions without being unduly influenced by ideas which may or may not be accurate. The length of time for a home visit varies and depends on what is going on with your property. In some cases I’m finished in an hour. In others it may take 2 or 3 particularly at older properties with historic layers to sort through. When I’m finished I text clients to return and tell them what transpired.
RATES
My rate is $100 an hour and I accept Apple Pay, CashApp, Venmo, Zelle and cash. You’ll be charged by the amount of time spent so a 90 minute home visit, for example, would cost $150. If hiring me to work outside Los Angeles you’ll be expected to cover any travel expenses in addition to my rate. If you’re not able to afford my rate you are still welcome to contact me regarding potential pro bono work as I do take on such cases from time to time when circumstances warrant it.
PROPERTY CLEANSING
I often can cleanse the property as part of the process and doing so is simply included in my rate, but if you have spirits in your home that do not wish to move on and they are not malevolent, I do not believe I have the spiritual right to remove them. Be aware that full property cleansings happen about 50% of the time, but it’s not unusual for a friendly presence to want to stay.
ADDITIONAL SUPPORT
In very rare cases I may find it necessary to bring in additional support and know great people should a call for reinforcements be required, but again – those situations are much rarer than television would have you believe. Costs, if any, will be discussed and agreed upon in advance.
CONCLUSION
Every session and property is different and results may vary. My testimonials are shared as proof that I’m really good at what I do. It can be incredibly validating to hear from someone who isn’t involved experiencing the same issues. All too often we tell ourselves it isn’t happening or it isn’t that bad in order to function living there.
