I grew up in a haunted home, so spending time in locations that feel creepy is oddly familiar to me. Doing paranormal work today as a medium not only leaves me with a sense of gratitude for being able to help others that have found themselves dealing with similar circumstances, it also helps me process what was going on when I was a kid.
Not long after I graduated from the Intensive Clairvoyant Training Program at the Berkeley Psychic Institute (2003), I was approached to help San Francisco Paranormal with their investigations. They were going to investigate an apartment near Dolores Park and asked me to come along. When we walked up to the address I asked, “Who is the old lady in the pink bathrobe on the third floor staring down at us?” They kind of shook their head in disbelief and said, “I think you’ll find out, that’s where we are going.”
Inside I had a lengthy conversation with the spirit of that old woman. She had lived in the apartment for forty years and had no interest in leaving. She didn’t know that she had died – which is so often the case. I asked if she wanted help moving on and she said no. I asked her if she could please be polite to the new tenants then, that she was a guest in their home now. She said she understood and that she would do so.
Later on I was informed that an agoraphobic woman had lived in the apartment for 40 years and that the current tenants would sometimes see her apparition wearing a pink bathrobe, particularly in the kitchen. That was when I fell in love with paranormal work. While I received plenty of validation for my psychic reading and healing work, the feeling I experienced being handed concrete factual evidence to back up what I had just experienced was not only validating, it was invigorating.
San Francisco Paranormal was active for several years and we helped a lot of people with their homes and businesses. Along the way I started offering property cleansing and home healings which were usually successful and helped a lot of stuck and trapped spirits move on. The team fell apart shortly after I moved to Los Angeles and while there is a paranormal crew currently operating in the Bay Area with a similar name, the two groups are unrelated.
HOW I OPERATE
Here in Los Angeles I primarily work alone at night as that is when the spirit realm is most active. Over the years I’ve also found in beneficial for residents to just let me in and leave. Why? My most confusing cases have stemmed from problematic spirits that were attached to a person, rather than the property. By removing everyone I’m able to get a clearer picture of what is – and what isn’t – going on. Should the issue turn out to be with a person, rather than a property, I’m available for psychic reading and healing work too – but it’s almost always the property. The other reason I like to check places out solo is that I’m able to develop my own impressions without someone else influencing them with ideas that may or not be accurate.
How long it will take depends upon what is going on with your property. Just know that I have zero desire to spend more time in bad environments than is absolutely necessary. In some cases I’ll be finished in an hour. In others it may take 2 or 3, particularly with older properties as there can be layers of energetic history to sort through. On numerous occasions a spirit has left a home and I thought that was it, only to find another layer rise once a more dominant presence is gone. When I’m finished I will let you know so you can return to the property and we’ll sit down and I’ll tell you everything that transpired. This part can be incredibly validating for both us, listening to one another talk about the same issues and experiences. All too often people need to tell themselves it isn’t happening or it isn’t that bad just so they can function being there daily, but it is and the energies are real.
RATES
My rate is $100 an hour. If you’re not able to afford this you are welcome to contact me regarding potential pro bono work as I do take on such cases from time to time should I feel the circumstances warrant it. Normally, however, I just accept Apple Pay, CashApp, Venmo, Zelle and cash. You’ll be charged by the amount of time spent so a 90 minute home visit, for example, would cost $150. If hiring me to work outside of Los Angeles you’ll also be expected to cover any travel expenses in addition to my rate.
PROPERTY CLEANSING
I am often able to cleanse the property as part of the process and doing so is simply included in my rate, but if you have spirits in your home that do not wish to move on and they are not malevolent, I do not believe I have the right to remove them. If they do wish to move on, however, I can certainly facilitate that. If they are malevolent and do not wish to leave I’ve also been able to successfully cleanse a property in this situation about 50% of the time. If I’m not able to do so, I may find it necessary to bring in additional support and know great people should a need to call in reinforcements arise. These cases, however, are so much rarer than television programs would have you believe and costs, if any, will be discussed and agreed upon in advance.
All of these things being said, every session and property is different and results may vary. My testimonials are shared as proof that I’m really good at what I do.
